Problems with front sight base removal

Got the two roll pins out. But nothing is budging.
Is there something else to loosen or remove before it
    will slide off the barrel?

If you don't care about it, beat it off with a hammer. All it really needs is one good whack to get it moving and it will eventually slide right off. When removing the FSB take care because you don't want to damage the gas tube since it is still "locked" into the "teeth" of the barrel nut.

Did you remove the gas tube? Roll pin comes out, gas tube slides off (into breech).

Use your four fingers to grip the bottom of the sight post/barrel, use your thumb to push on the top of the post, then jiggle it to break it free from the parkerizing, it'll come loose. Sometimes I rock them back and forth to break them free, then they'll slide right out. Worst case scenario, I'd get a rag to cover the post with and use a rubber mallet to tap it side to side before sliding it off by hand.

Soak it in some Kroil, whack it with a deadblow hammer. Protect the finish by using a scrap piece of oak or other hardwood against the front sight base.

Oh yeah, make sure the gas tube is already removed.

Contrary to some opinions here, you don't have to remove the gas tube first.

Just whack it with a soft nylon or dead-blow hammer a couple times towards the muzzle. It'll start to slide off.

                        Thanks for the suggestions...it worked

Liberally sprayed with a penetrating oil, left for an hour, then
a couple of blows with a rubber mallet.
                        Success!

Nuff said right here ^^^ I've done HUNDREDS this way (even REAL tight ones) Plastic hammer toward the muzzle + a little Kroil for the stubborn ones.

I use a nylon faced hammer.
It rarely takes more than 1 or 2 hits to pop it loose.
What you are doing is laying down the burrs that were created when the barrel and FSB were drilled for taper pins.
Once those burrs are layed down, the FSB slides right off.

No need to remove the gas tube from the FSB unless you are changing to a gas block, or replacing the gas tube.
