    Ak Left hand thread

Is a left handed thread common on Ak47 series? (meaning I twist clockwise to loosen) I want to get a muzzle brake that looks like this russian one. But want to be sure that the threading is normal before I purchase a brake.

Anyone know a good site that sells that particular brake that will attach onto my 7.62x39 ak

O.k I am confused. I have seen many different sites calling this by both names some say it's a flash hider, then others say its a muzzle brake. Now I don't know whats what. I thought a muzzle brake has the front end closed enough to only allow the bullet to pass through it, where a flash hider the front end would be completely open. Is that correct? And is this a hider or a brake?

That's a slant brake. Not a flash hider - it directs flash upwards INTO your field of vision, not away from it.

Has anyone tried installing one of Smith's new AK Vortex flash suppressors?

          Any comments? Easy to install?
