    Favorite AK scope mount.

Hey guys, 9 days till my new AK pistol comes home with me, and I was wondering what your favorite AK scope mount is, as I really think a red dot is nessisary on a AK pistol.

While we are on the subject, what is your favorite method of attaching a 1 point sling to an AK pistol.

(I know it is a pistol but i figured there would be a greater knowledge base in this forum)

        I bought this: http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/origina...ck-finish.html

I haven't yet attached it to the rifle since I don't have it yet, but the mount feels very sturdy and has a quality feel to it.

Isn't the ultimax the one that fits on the gas tube? If so that would work with an AK pistol since people use them on their Dracos.

This ak pistol does have the standard AK optics mount on the left side of the reciever, I don't know if that is what you guys are talking about?

I have the same exact mount. I use it for red dot and I don't use it much, but every time I slap it back on, it's not too far off zero.

I deal strictly with Tantal for all my AK optic accessories.

Cheapest prices in town and great customer service.

Yes the Ultimak replaces the gas tube. That is the last place I wanna put an optic that costs more then that gun. Think about it, where is all the heat in an AK? The gas tube, there's been plenty of people who've fried their EOtechs and Aimpoints by mounting them to the gas tube.
For a pistol I would get the MI railed handguard.http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/...ategory_id=241
                    Or maybe the UTG http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=520438
People knock the UTG stuff as airsoft, The quad rails I have work, and they work really well. Solid as a rock and unlike the first gen these grab the gas tube where it locks up, at the gas block and the rear sight block.
IMO the best mounting option for an AK rifle is the TWS rail.

Now if you wanna get slick, I've been working on something and the evolution is in progress.

Very true that a lot of the heat is on the gas tube but people have done some testing that the heat does affect the optics. There are a bunch of people running their Dracos with them. Now, I'm not saying that's the best option but it is an option. For me, I would probably get I think it is the TWS Dogleg top cover mount.
