used to be, every time i got the call to go hunting/shooting, i was tripping over myself, trying to figure out which one of my hundred million rifles to take with me. im sure at least a few of you have this problem. then when i'd finally pick one, and get out there, often the terrain isn't what i had expected, or i'd miss those targets of opportunity due to the wrong choice. the worst choice is thinking "oh, its not gonna be much of a hike, ill just take rifle-zilla along..." well i dont know about you all, but i weigh approximately 470 steerburgers, and that is a lot to pack up a mountain by itself!
so without further ado, i give you my sole, centerfire field rifle.
the remington 600 mohawk.

she sports a home-floated, semi-beat wood stock, an 18.25" lightweight .308win barrel, and a leupold vx1 2-7x33 duplex reticle scope! the army surplus "m16 SILENT SLING (aww yeah!)" tops off the package. weighing in at hardly anything, it is the perfect balance of light weight, accuracy/precision, stopping power, and "don't care too much if it gets beat up" durability and value. i did need to peel the rear sight off the rifle, but it goes back on in about 15 seconds with a flat screwdriver, and weighs less than an ounce if i want to take along some "BUIS."
anyways, i just got the scope today and was pretty stoked, so i just wanted to share. thanks.
feel free to post up your "do-most-everything" rifle!
