Bushmaster muzzle break

I currently have an A2 "Birdcage" flash hider / brake on my 16" barrel M4 build. Is the A2 technically a flash hider or a muzzle brake?

I'm ordering the Bushmaster Mini Y-Comp Muzzle Brake and washer as a replacement. Does anyone have any experience of this brake, and how does it perform?

As this is sold as a muzzle brake, at least there's no argument that I've removed one extra "evil" feature from my rifle.

That's a great brake, it reduces recoil a lot. Just don't expect to make friends with anyone shooting to the immediate right or left of you.
