Lil' Retro Plinker - Scope Ring Recommendations?

Hey guys, here's a project I'm working on - the object is not so much "practical" as "just for the hell of it". I managed to snag a great little rifle in an auction recently. It's a Marlin Model 62 Levermatic in .30 carbine. Now, this rifle and the round itself (in popular terms at least) are a couple bygone favorites from yesteryear, the rifle itself being mfr'd between '66 and '69 and the surplus .30 carbine being a popular round with shooters because it was so cheaply available at that time, having been phased out for the most part in military service. What's more, I have a freshly refurbished Redfield Widefield 4x fixed scope, which were available in the early 70's. So, to mate these up in a "period appropriate" fashion, what would you experienced (ahem, geezers? LOL) shooters who remember that era recommend for good SOLID rings? I have used Burris Signature on my other scoped rifles but would like to avoid the plastic. I have a mounting rail - maybe not the MOST era-specific thing but hopefully that will be my largest concession to modernity with this gun. I want to keep the scope mounted as low as possible.

Any tips or suggestions? Oh, here's the rifle:

That rifle rules and will be a ton of fun to shoot. The 30 carbine hits as hard as a .357 - that will be a fun gun.

A nice set of Leupy or the new Redfield rings perhaps? I just like the rifle.

All I found were Leupold rings (they make the new "Redfield" brand). Nice but not quite what I was looking for. Going to try some Burris Zee Weaver's first.

Ok, I got my Burris Zee rings and my weaver rail. The weaver rail, the holes do line up with the ones on the receiver, but the screws don't seem to fit those holes. Also the little allen wrench with the kit AND my standard allen wrench set do not turn these screws... they are just oversize enough that they strip out with very minimal pressure. So that may be going back. Thinking now about getting a 2-piece mount... not really sure because I checked Leupold and their chart doesn't show a Marlin 62. Is that a deficit in their chart or do they really not make anything that fits?

How about the old style Weavers - hook on one side, two screws on the other? I know they're a touch ugly, but they definitely look old style.
