    Scope Question

    Hello guys,

I was wondering if anybody has or know of this scope by SWFA?

The scope is a SWFQ SS 20x42 scope.

The price is awesome at around 350-450.

If this scope is good, I would be putting it on a Savage 111 30-06, or my 556 that has a 24in barrel.

    My question is...

Is this a good scope? or a cheap crappy on? I am looking at hitting targets out to 500 yards

Thanks guys, and hope everybody had a great 4th

Get the 10x instead of the 20x. You'll have a wider FOV which makes it easier to locate your target. The image will be brighter, and you won't have the heavy mirage on hot days like you would at 20x.

The SWFA fix power Super Snipers are great scopes.

        What he said.

I have the 10X with side parallax adjuster. Spend the extra for the side knob. The scope is very clear and very rugged. It has a large following at the snipershide.

        Mounted to my old rifle.

the only thing I don't like about mine is that the knocks turn and not click sometimes.
+1 on 10X the glass is clear but over all I don't think it's worth the price.
Bushnell has some great models for about that price
There are sniper everywhere and nowhere.....who knows what is out there.

              Scope Question

I can vouch for SS scopes. I own three of them (1) 16X and (2) 20X. The crosshairs and Mil-dots are on the thickside but overall its a great scope. Lots of elevation and windage adjustment available. I have hunted with them (Caribou with the 16X on a sporterized springfield 1903A3 and twice Antelope using a Remington 700 6mm Rem. 1st one take at 545 yards), and I shoot High Power Silhouette out to 500 meters. Yes you will get more mirage but that is part of reading wind and mirage in long range shooting. The focus really does go down to 40 yards and the optics are above average with no distortion near the edges. It's a big scope (30mm tube). Either of the fixed powers are recommended for the job.
