You said the Bushnell was a licensed clone. It is an actual holosight manufactured EOTech... Licensed would imply that L3 Communications allowed another manufacturer to produce it. Clone would imply copy... it is neither licensed nor cloned.

I think the license also allows Bushnell to put their name on the sight even thought L3 makes it.

I don't understand the Bushnell being a "clone".

So when did Eotech put out their sight 'cus I bought my Bushnell Holosight nearly 6 years ago before ever hearing the name EOTech.

From what I gather, Eotech developed the Holosight for Bushnell initially and eventually came out with their own brand for the military at a later date.

My Bushnell holosight that I bought 6 years ago runs longer than my rev. F EOTech, both of which used 2 "N" cells. The EOTech is slightly brighter and has a couple more levels of intensity.

I've taken both apart, and for the internal mechanisms, they are the same. I was making some polite coversation with a clerk at Reed's Indoor Range once, and he told me EOTechs used a different technology, which is total BS

As some have already mentioned it, you're only missing the protective metal shroud and the raised buttons. What I don't know about the Holosight is if it contains all the latest Revs of the latest EOTech models. Any of the EOTechs before Rev F had some reliability issues and didn't run on batteries for very long.
