Range report on my new AR. Also need some advice.

So yesterday I took my new AR out to the range and sighted in the primary arms. So right out of the box, so to speak. The primary arms was about 4" tot he left and 4" down at 50 yds. Got it dialed in and then it started losing zero. I was mad..... Then I realized that the nut holding it down was loose. It rattled loose, I tightened her up snug and then it held zero the rest of the day.

With the 2moa dot and no bipod I took out the legs of the pvc target at 50 yards. I thought that was more fun than hitting the paper. I had 2 malfunctions where it failed to feed. I took the bolt carrier group out and did a visual on it real quick and realized that the m4 feed ramps were not lined up. The tip of the round would get jammed up in there.

Is there a fix for this or should I contact Del-ton? I am an avid DIYer so if this is no big deal and I can fix it then I will. I was thinking maybe some dremel and polish.

Oki doki. I emailed del-ton hope to hear back from them soon. Will it matter that I bought it off of a vendor on here? I just emailed del-ton directly. Technically it is there fault.

My Stag did that too... Along with other issues too. Don't buy Stag and don't buy Del ton.

                Wow

I was glad to see my LMT (which I highly suggest you buy) had a checklist card tied to the trigger guard. It listed and checked about 30 things. I know someone had to make sure the gun was built correctly. Also LMT fires 30 rounds through the gun before shipping.

I had the same problem, I loosened the barrel nut, and lined up the barrel so the grooves matched, then cranked it back down. Never had a problem with it after.
First and only AR, so dont know if thats a normal adjustment or a defect.

wow how did the quality control outfit miss this one?

Send that sucker back with a list of problems you have. They should send you a complete new upper and repair that one replacing any defective parts.

But more then likely they are going to slap that upper back together and send it back to you. Hopefully hickup free after that.

The only downside is I bought it from a vendor on here. I contacted del-ton directly because it is not the vendors fault that they didn't QC this upper. You think del-ton would give me a refund or would I have to go through the vendor. The Vendor is a real nice guy and would rather del-ton have to deal with it and not him.

I'd have a talk with the vendor. First, he would carry more weight with Del-Tron than you would. Second, if it has to go back to the factory, he probably gets a better shipping rate than you. You're right, it isn't the vendor's fault.

Apparently he could be just a little bit nicer.

I assume the Vendor got your money & not Delton?

I'd ask him for a COMPLETE refund. If he balks, I'd clean up the upper, deliver it to him, and dispute the credit card charge.

Sounds like if you paid in cash or by check the "real nice guy" thinks you're up crap creek. IMO a dealer needs to stand by the stuff he sells. If he's selling Del-Ton, he ought to know he'll get a return every so often.

                              Good luck to ya

It'd be nice if you'd name the dealer, might save a fellow Calgunner some misery.
