Only ordered two. Ordered non-firing bolts as added accessories. It's the same agency whose cries of 'over power' lead to the .40 S&W.

I'm going to take a gamble and guess that these were purchased for ballistics tests, training and identification for field agents, as well as displays.

When the people fear the Govt there is tyranny, when the Govt fears the people there is Liberty... Our founders knew that's why they tried to tied the hands of the Fed... I think Jefferson said the above quote

Buddy of mine read the manual/specs and he said that there was a line that said Recoil: manageable. Then some giant of a Marine shot it , looked at my friend and said "manageable my ***."

I don't really trust the source of the article. Just cuz its in print does not mean its real. If it is legit, seems like a waste of $$$ for the FBI. If the coast guard bought them for drug busts from a heli that would make more sense......but thats what they already have barretts for.

More than likely they have budget money to get rid of. Got to spend it on something.

The FBI is probably sending them to Afganistan or to store in their armory (waste of money).

LA County Sheriff's Dept Swat have a 50 cal Barrett with suppressor and M60 machine gun that never see use. Swat officers for LAPD carry the 6.8 AR now instead of .223.

In summery: US gov buys more big guns

Other than drooling over the gun and figuring out if it will fit into your gun safe if you just moved a few others guns around, I'm not sure what the excitement is about.... yawn

You mean the computers they seem to lose or let get stolen about what? every other year that has your personal info with ssn in it? lol. Same here bro. Every other year there is a roster for those who "might" be in danger of ID theft
No, I think he means NSA Echelon and FBI filtering that's already looked up this thread and logged all the poster's IPs, cross-referenced them with all your posts, and flagged those exhibiting behavior they don't like and then built a profile on the posters. Now they know whose email, commenting, blogging, and cell phone to monitor, since, thank to the Patriot and other acts, they don't need warrants if it's potential terrorism including domestic and even Ted Kennedy and Nelson Mandela were on the Terror Watch List once (as well as a couple of 6 year-olds).

But don't worry, that one rifle that will be stored in moth balls and only used for training as it is never likely to be a 100 miles near the need to use it to stop a vehicle or bring down a small plane, is far more dangerous to you.
