Seems to be a limited application weapon.
It's so excessive for shooting at people, more likely it will be used against large vehicles like trucks or buses, possibly even low flying / slow moving helicopters.
20mm is big enough to pack some explosive, gas or whatever; and a solid round would be a very powerful penetrator.
The FBI is only getting two, so it's no big worry.
My guess is they will set them up for defense of the White House or Capitol buildings or similar use.

You should really attack the guard too since they are state and not federal (unlike the FBI) and have access to Bradleys and Strikers. Those selfish oppressing bastards ya know. THOSE are the guys you should go after.

We should stop the FBI from using 308 rifles!

What did they use at Waco? DOH! Tanks, 50 cal machineguns and helicopters with mini-guns. Yeah your right I doubt they would ever use a weapon like this on anyone. Nothing to worry about.
What was the crime there? Oh yeah they didn't pay a 200 dollar tax. Good enough reason to kill women and children isn't it?

        Sheeeeesh........

Old new bro and its not the FBI. There are a couple guys up here that have 20mm rifles mounted to their trucks for shooting. Its locals. I have no idea why a civilian would need this as it would kill any animal in one shot. In fact these pics look like they came from guys up here or Arkansas. I will try and dig up the article. FBI wasnt anywhere in the article though. Weird, same pictures.

If they can get it, I should be able to get it. Not that I want to, feeding it will be expensive, but I should have the option if they do.

I read an article about this in one of the gun mags this month. They are going to use the rifles at the FBI training center so they can be familiar with the rifles if they need to use them for anti-materiel use.

The fact that government agencies have weapons that can kill massive numbers of civillians is not really the problem. The problem is when they use them on US citizens.

Yup. And I would be so bold as to suggest that if the FBI started using that cannon on civilians, that the poo has already hit the fan.

Why are you guys freaking out about our government having these rifles?

Don't they also have fighter jets, stealth bombers, and oh yea NUKES!?

                        I'm not too worried about a 20mm...

Now that there is the true spirit of the Second Amendment--that the people be at least as well armed as the gov't.

Of course, at the time, there were no such things as jet fighters and nukes, but hey, the townspeople COULD buy and own cannons, which are definitely not mere personal sidearms.

Let me guess, an email alert from one of the nutcase websites or it was found posted on a whackjob website and immediately posted it here without checking it against any other source. It had to be true since it was posted on Nut-R-Us, The Government is Evil website.
