Any functional difference between Aimpoint's ML2 and ML3?

What's the difference between the two? They weigh the same, have the same dot, no magnification, even look the same.

But the M3 costs more.

ML2 = 10,000 hours. only available with 4 moa dot.
ML3 = 50,000 hours. Also available with 2 or 4 moa dot.

You can get a 2 MOA dot on a ML3 as well, but the big one is the battery life.

I see. 10,000 hours seems plenty to me. A 4 moa dot should be practical for 200 yards or less plinking.

4 MOA sounds big to some people, but having owned an EOtech and a T1, the 4moa dot is not that big at all. If it was a 1moa dot it would way to small to see and shoot quickly. If you need a more precise aiming device look for something with magnification.

Exactly. Go with 2 MOA if you plan on using the 3x magnifier, otherwise I would use the 4 MOA.
