Bolt release prototype done!!

After a long wait for my mill and accessories plus dealing with a broken part on the mill. I have finished the first model. Now I need you guy to tell me what you think. This is an ambi lever that can be used with your tumb as you put in the mag or with your trigger finger as the other hand puts in the mag. Its made out of aluminum making it very light. I have not weighed it yet but trust me its light. All the sharp edges have been milled off giving it a nice feel. I plan of bluing it as well to match the gun. Let me know if there is anything you would like to see added or taken away. I have not decided on a price yet because this one peace took me about 8 hours to do by hand. I'll have to buy a couple more tools make a few more to see just how fast I can make them. I can tell you that it will not be above $100. My goal is to get them down to about $40 but that depends on how long it takes me once I figure out the most productive ways to cut.

When do I get to try it out, huh? My schedule is a lot looser now, I could finally meet you on the weekend at LS. Was there today, tried out my FALs.

No, worries, you can take your pick of Type I or Type III. Did a dance with them today; next best thing to an AR. If the iron sights were better (will have to work on that), it would be even a closer call. Also, the re-coil wasn't anywhere close to what I expected, even with FED 168.

Try countersunk allen head screws.

Yeah a countersunk screw would work. My plan is to just sink the current screw in deeper so its flush with the lever. All the countersunk screws I saw use a smaller allen wrench and because people may want to take it on and off I wanted to use a larger allen so there is less chance of stripping the socket. My next build will have a flush look.

I just got to try it out. Works well, improves the the SU a lot.
