    Mount for EOTech

I want to get a mount for my 551.A65 so that the iron sites will be in a lower field of view. But I'm thinking that in the future I would like to either get the aimpoint or EOTech's 3x magnifying scope as well. For the magnifying scope, I would like the mount to be a flip-side mount so that I can leave it attached, but for CQB, just flip it away.

With that in mind, what do you guys recommend. I know LaRue's has a quick detach magnifying mount. Is that easy to use or would a flip-side mount be better.

Any other suggestion for mounts are welcomed. These are what I see most of the time, but I not limiting myself to these options.

By the way I have Troy flip-up rear BUIS.

    Thanks.

At the range it probably won't matter, but it must be a real pain to have to detach and re-attach out in the field.

I've got a carbine with Troy BUIS and an EOTech mounted on a LaRue mount...no prob, though it COULD be a prob with one of those lame twist-off magnifiers

What other mounts are available for the EOTech? I like how the iron sites are in a lower field of view with a mount rather then just putting the EOTech on the upper receiver.

GG&G makes a decent quick-release mount, though it doesn't add any height to the optic but actually replaces the retention mechanism. You could always just get a riser http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetac...tail.bok?no=28

            Brando,

Is this riser higher/lower/or the same as the LaRue EOTech mount? That looks like what I'm looking for.

IIRC same height. Are you planning on using the Samson side flip mount for the 3x?

I'm leaning towards the Sampson with the Aimpoint magnifying scope. Also looking at EOTech's 3x magnifying scope with a flip-side mount. http://www.opticsplanet.net/eotech-h...magnifier.html

Or you can wait for the new 557

                    I already have a 551.a65 (got a good deal on it <$300)
and that set-up is way too much (I don't know how much it costs, but that looks expensive)

Also, I probably won't get the magnifying scope for awhile. Just want to get the right "riser" for it when I got the money to buy the magnifying scope and mount for it.

What's wrong with the twist-off mount? I'm deciding between that and the Larue mount, although the Larue mount on my Aimpoint is "a bitch" to remove.

Like I said, on a range, probably doesn't matter, but in the field you might not want to have to fumble with putting your 3x away.

Is the LaRue LT-110 pretty much the best mount for the EOTech???
