I would figure that since you've had it for almost 30 years, it probably works great because it's well broken in. I'd guess you've put a few thousand rounds through it in that time.Jonah -
Those original SP1 disconnectors were identified as possible failure points by the time I first attended Colt's AR Armorer course in the 90's. When they failed, the weapon would run full auto. Even if you find another, you might not want to install it in your rifle.
That trigger is probably smooth because it's been well worked in, as NapaCountyShooter said.I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!Comment

Sear step worn on trigger, hammer or both, possibly. Time to junk that pair of parts by now, I'd say. My SP1 is on its third set of fire control parts.I'm retired. That's right, retired.
