M1A Evolution?

Have the magazines of the M1A evolved or are they the exact same as they were when the platform was first invented?

On that note has the riffle design changed since its introduction?

1) Same mag... if you managed to find a good M14 mag in the jungle of 'nam, it'll still work in a SA M1A that you just brought at your local gun store.

2) Other then the stock and barrel configuration, nothing much has changed in the basic M14 system.

Except for the availability of cool stocks like the JAE and SAGE and that one that looks like an AR-15 with a thyroid imbalance, the M1A is pretty much the gun that went into the jungles of Vietnam and didn't come out the other side, now rediscovered as a great platform for the 7.62 NATO in sandy climes...
