Looking for Eotech QD mount

Anyone know where I can find a Quick Detach mount for an Eotech 516? I have found them for the 512 and xps units but nothing fir the 516/516.

A QD mount would raise your Eotech too much to cowitness your Irons, right? if you're okay with that, you could probably use this:

I havent seen any probably because the 516 is raised 7mm.

I don't know what mount you are linking to but I am looking for something lilt the gg&g QD used on the 512.

Sorry, didnt realize you were trying to find something like the GG&G. I thought you meant something more along the lines of the Larue QD mount, which is why i linked the ARMS QD riser thingy.

Anyone who ever says QD and any kind of optic, I always think LaRue Tactical. Of course there are others, but their stuff is tits.

I checked out larue but their mount looks a little funny, I wish gg&g just would make a 516/517 mount.

After reading the larue fine print, the mount is not made for the 516/517.

I saw that GG&G had something along the lines of what you're looking for, but made to replace the original mounting screws of the XPS model. Spoke to someone at GG&G last week regarding the future availability of something for the 516 model....

his answer : "check back with us, we'll have something soon"

He went on the to suggest they are working on it now, and that they expect
release in the next 60days or so.

for the 516 you'll want some type of GG&G mount that doesnt raise the unit.

If you want ot use a larue, then buy a 512 or similar so you can still cowitness lower 1/3

Another option, if you're looking to upgrade... sell the 516, and take the cash, plus what you would pay for the GG&G and buy the new EXPS instead.

Then you get a qd mount thats more streamlined than the GG&G, and smaller overall size using only 1 battery. Plus you keep the features of the 516 like side mounted controls, lower 1/3 co-witness, and use of CR123 battery(same as most tac lights & other accessories).


Myself, i'm actually using a borrowed 516 now. My buddy is not done with his build yet, and he has no use for his 516 till its done, so its on extended loan to me. He's expecting to finish soon, so I put in my order with midway for my EXPS, and should have it by next week. I looked into the 516 GG&G mount so i can get it for my buddy as a birthday/thank you gift.

And on that note... here's a pic of the EXPS.

I just sold my XPS because I needed the money, but I can tell you this-- the XPS is AMAZING.

The size is perfect, it takes only one battery, uses cr123 batteries just like most tactical lights you would have on your AR. That new XPS that Eric_Oh posted is what I would consider the best EOTech unit available right now. I would just get it without the NV if possible.

^^^ Yea I'm planning to get the XPS 2-0 for my AR pistol, but would like the EXPS in a non NV version. Anybody know if a non NV EXPS is coming out?
