If you have to go with a gas-piston AR, then get a LWRC M6 or get an Addax Tactical GPU upper and put it on your AR lower.
Both options are better than the MR556 and you don't have to wait for H&K to finally release it.

Nope, dont waste your money on a $1999 SCAR. I would rather go Colt or LWRC. Done and done.

H&K HK-416 uppers can be had with 10.4", 14.5", 16.5" or 20" barrels.
The 10.4" and 14.5" uppers are the most common.

Save all ur dollars buy a cmmg lep 4 install - 999 - sights 100 and an anti tilt buffer and forged charging handle for 120 bux and your done - there not required but I recommend them.

Clean your barrel as you normally would.

Clean the Piston System when you feel the need to. Just like an AK.

How long have you run them before needing spare parts (extreme and the average)? Like if I have x number of rounds down the pipe, if I'm going to a weekend class, at what point should I worry about bring spare this and thats?

When i get enough funds available, definitely picking up your ZK upper
