At nearly twice the price and 25% additional weight, the Beretta is not going to harm the sales of the SU-16 Rifles. Since competition of all consumer goods is primarily based upon price ranges, I'd say they will be more in direct competition with OLL/MM Grip rifles and maybe even the M1A. But since the OLL/MM rifles (and the BSR) have the benifit of parts & accessories logistics on their side over the Beretta, I vote the Beretta to be a white elephant at the get go (except for a collector's safe queen). Now if the BSR can come in at a sub $800 street price, they might have a good chance of taking marketshare of both the SUs & OLL's (better reliability & less criminal liability, respectivly). Over that price, they will might have a bit of trouble moving off the shelves fast. MUD, I wish you well on your success and commend you for taking the bull by the horns! As soon as the price settles to comodity levels, I'll take one for $799.99!

I think taking deposits on preorders may be a great way to gain momentum with the manufactures. I would lay some cash down for sure

is the rx4 available for sale yet? I've seen all types of discussion on the beretta rx4 for two years now and don't know whether I can get one.

            Mud & 50 Freak,

Ditto on the preorders way to go. Might work!

How does the process work? I know that there are 4 manufacturers for forged lowers. How about milled? Sun Devil milled their receivers, right? I don't see them having huge contracts from the .Gov, so maybe talk to them?

            Or
Can you go the route of an 80% receiver (milled or forged) from a regular machine shop (according to your specs). I don't know if that shop needs an ATF license. Then have the actual licensed machine shop drill a few holes & finish off to complete the lower receiver. I'm thinking that it would take 2 days to finish drilling 500 receivers rather than holding up their production for a couple of weeks.

I'm just getting antsy about this rifle. Pardon my blabber!

Hope those that have not seen the BSR-15 at 3-Gun matches yet will get to try them out at the Chabot BBQ on July 7. I will have the 2 rifles I've been using in matches with M4-gery uppers on them. We have contacted all of the Main Mfg's to date, including the Billet guys (Mega and Sun Devil). Like I mentioned before, most are weary about tying up their machines with our product when they can be producing their receivers. We are still hunting though, I want to see this rifle come to market. As for taking Pre orders, Without having a Mfg in place I would hate to take money at this time. We are trying to get some ducks in a row before jumping to that level. I appreciate the continued interest and am still on the phone weekly trying to get our company to the next level.

I like almost everything about it except how the trigger looks. My opinion only, but it looks like a modern rifle with a 1800's trigger .

does anyone see any merit in the su16 gas piston operation?

If they see the interest of Californians it might bump us up the list. I have been on the phone with almost all of the big companies and small trying to get some help, but most are tied up producing their own product to give us some machine time. I hope people stay interested, as I think this will be a great rifle that was born in our fine State.
Can you give us a list w/ contact info? I'm not opposed to writing a few letters.

Ah dang, this made me all nostalgic for the days when we thought the BATF wouldn't screw us with the RX4 and we thought the Blackstar Rifle would come out before our sun died.

I agree! I dont want to go up and down ranges here in PRK and have somebody in my face who is ignorant making a big deal about it. What is the price range for these things so that i can save up?

i take my oll to the range regularly and have never had any trouble with other shooters or range masters , on the contrary , i have had folks stop and admire as they walk by on the line , and i will answer any question happily , since i am usually at angeles i refer folks to metroshot though i've never been there ( i'm in OC so i use J&J and ade's ), the more of us that have oll's (who are friendly , law abiding , helpful shooters ), the more acceptance we gain in this state
