ROMAK III PSL Build (MACH I need you!)

I been wanting to build a PSL i seen one on line right now and i am thinking on pulling the trigger on and ordering however its missing a barrel pin and rear trunnion. my question to you guys or mach is if the Barrel pins and rear trun interchangeable? i done a few ak builds now but how much harder is the PSL?

Well, as of right now there are not PSL flats so you would have to do an 80% receiver or buy one, I think Nodak was making one. I know there are also other places you can buy one from.

The hardest part will be the barrel press out (tapered barrel extension), and barrel press in (cause of that long barrel).

have you done one yet? im up for the challege but yea your right barrel is going to be a PITA!

Nope. I just bought a rifle. I forgot to mention that the scope rails that come with the kits also require work. They are out of spec/machining unfinished.

The price of PSLs has dropped so much in the last year or so ($550 including scope) in free States, that starting a build with a $400 parts kit seems almost not a viable option any more.

I can understand wanting the challenge of building one, but it may end up being slightly cheaper just to buy a built PSL.

Rear Trunnion might be played with a bit. I'd have to take a look around and get some measurements. Barrel pin, no problem. Receiver, no problem http://www.wlawarehouse.com/store_fr.../psl-receiver/.

Lloyd, PM me and we'll talk. Don't forget, you'll need the renforcment plates for the rear trunnion, they get riveted with the trunnion to the receiver.
