Spray paint that matches Saiga finish.

I was just wondering if anyone have tried some spray paint from a can that matches well with the OEM Saiga rifle's finish?

Hi temp engine paint, Krylon, Walmart $1.14 paint, bbq paint, Alumahide, etc etc..

    Let me know. Thanks!

Flat black alumahyde II is close enough.

+1. Aluma-Hyde II from Brownells is good stuff. Hard wearing and easy to use. Here is an AMD-65 build I did with the flat black Aluma-Hyde II.

Nobody else did a conversion on their Saiga, and painted the bottom of the receiver, gas tube, and/or handguard retainer?

Yep, but I sanded and refinished the entire gun.

Ha ha. Yeah. That is probably the best way to do it, but we're just going to mask most of the gun and paint the bottom of the receiver. Cheap bastard special style

For the alumahide from brownells do you have to strip the rifle first? What is the best way to do this?

I haven't tried any of the other finishes mentioned but I've found Duracoat to be a very close match if you use a mixture between semi gloss and matte.

                            SVD or NDM?
Absolutely beautiful. I had to pleasure myself at the sight of this.

Thanks, it's an NDM-86. Wish it was a real SVD but don't have $7K~15K they seem to go for nowadays, and it's offlist too (heck, it's C&R eligible)

Simply remove the piston and it turns into a CA single shot. Go out of state and pop it back in you're in business.
