    Where to buy AR Parts.

I know this has been asked before but the search function isnt giving me any answers. I am building my first AR so far all i have is my stripped lower. Which is an LRB, i got for 125 OTD. I want to build a quality rifle, but my budget isnt huge. Im thinking about 500 for the upper and maybe another 200 or so for everything else(Stock, BB, Mags, LPK) Any body have any personal opinions or suggestions for companies in those price ranges? Thanks guys. Oh before i forget i wanna learn on Iron sights and then work my way into optics so thats not in the budget.

If you are indeed in LA, a trip down to RifleGear in Costa Mesa is well worth it.

Knowledgeable and very helpful staff. Alot of people have nothing but good things to say about their customer service and shipping

I'm partial to the Daniel Defense LPK, and anything else by Bravo Company.

        With that said...

        ...Riflegear, Riflegear, and Riflegear.

They customer service is A1 and their shipping is fast. If they have what I'm looking for I order it through them.
"As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun, therefore, be the constant companion to your walks." -- Thomas Jefferson

A little more than your $700 budget, but absolutely worth it.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get that deal? I'm in so Cal and am looking for a deal like that. I was going to wait for the gun show but if I can get a lower that cheap I'll just use the gun show sale prices for an upper.

The deal he is referring to is this: SoCal Stripped AR-15 lowers $125 OTD (group buy closes on 04.04.10). It's too bad that it was only open one week. I'm sure a lot of people missed out on it.

Ok, get a list of what all you will need. There are lots of those on here and online elsewhere. Use the search feature. Many of the parts you need can be found at Midway USA and Brownells. If you are looking for a complete upper, without having to piece it all together, watch the good deals section on here. You can often get something really nice for around $400. It is just a matter of waiting for it to come up on sale. As for the lower, get the cheapest lower parts kit you can find, as they are all more or less the same. Get the buttstock style you prefer as well. Then go hit youtube and watch the step by step videos on how to put it all together. For your budget of $700 plus your receiver, you should be able to put together a decent rifle. Also search on here for threads about the lowest cost build. While you are looking to spend a bit more than many of the ones mentioned on those threads, you could still get some good info out of them. Good luck!
