What do you guys think of the P415?

Check this rifle out and let me know what you guys think?

The P415 Edge is engineered to be unstoppable in unfavorable conditions. It's gas piston system has set the standard for durability!

I think I am really tossed between this and the MR556 that will be coming out but this one is much cheaper and I have found it for as low as $1800

Or a buddy of mine is trying to convince me to build my own and buy their upper which I have found for as cheap as $1300.

      Rifle Platform

So I was thinking of building my own.

      Upper receiver: $1375
Stripped Lower receiver: $125 after dros
      Stock: $140
      Grip: $80
      Parts kit:$60
      Optics: $123

So far still shopping for the rest.

They have a very solid reputation and stand buy thier product from everything I have heard. Only real knock I have heard about thier uppers is the size of the handguards/rail system.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

I really like the look of POF's rifle. They look tough and beefy, but that handguard is big. A buddy of mine bought one and soon sold it after trying it out, his complaint was weight. I haven't handled one, but the do look heavy.

I built my first piston rifle using the POF upper and OLL misc. build a couple years back and was happy with the results.

if you have researched it and thats what you want then by all means go for it. I have both the 5.56 p415 and the p308 and enjoy both of them.

they are on the beefy side for the 5.56 but the .308 is par with anything else on the market. the weight doesnt bother me as i tilt the scales as it is so another few pounds hanging off the front end wont bother me.

if you wait around long enough on gunbroker a good used POF upper can be had for less than 1200.

Thanks for the responses guys. As long as its not rediculously heavy being a little heavy or bulky I don't mind at all.

So as it turns out comparing building my own and buying one already fully built I have found the following differences.

$1975 is the price fully built and then I would pay an extra $75 total for the transfer and dros fees.

$2050 without any optics with a $20 dollar grip

My project adds the grip I want which is the actual 416 battlegrip and a River Rock Arms operator Stock as well as an NC Star quick detach 3X9X42 Mildot Green/Red Scope.

I also got a lower receiver with the HK markings for $97 dollars locally and so I only payed for the $25 dros fee, no transfer fee necessary.

$1375 for the Complete P415 upper receiver although I wish I could have found it cheaper I like the barrel, flashhider, rail system and everything included really.

Here is the final price breakdown:

                  Upper Receiver: $1375
Stripped Lower receiver with HK markings: $97
                  Stock: $140
                  Grip: $80
                  Parts kit:$60
                  Optics: $123
                  CAA Foregrip: $25

                  Total: $1900

So what do you guys think overall with my project?
