Hey all i searched all the keywords that i could think of but didn't find anything. Just the other day i saw one of these on somebodys web site for around $550 but i can't remember where it was. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find one close to this price range?

It seems Talon Arms has it, see link above. Unfortunately, it's not the $550 one. I was among the first batch of people to receive M&P-15R upper from Militarygunsupply.com when it become available, but they no longer offer this product and it was $599.99.NRA certified RSO, Pistol/Rifle/Personal Protection Inside The Home instructor, Certified SIG/Glock pistol armorer.Comment

Personally, I'd spend the money on a 5.45x39 Saiga than buying a 5.45x39 upper. Ran into a lot of problem with my M&P-15R upper. It ran okay now, but still not 100% reliable. See my old post:

Maybe...Mine's run 100% with about 2000 rounds through it. Stronger hammer spring and 5.45 mags.Personally, I'd spend the money on a 5.45x39 Saiga than buying a 5.45x39 upper. Ran into a lot of problem with my M&P-15R upper. It ran okay now, but still not 100% reliable. See my old post:

Unfortunately, he's out of stock right now. I had a parkerizing issue on mine, and he exchanged it for another one from S&W (after he got a bunch of bad ones).
As far as using the upper - I haven't had any issues with it. I did use the heavy spring that comes with the upper, but so far it works well.Comment

The S&W 5.45 upper has a chrome-lined barrel.
I'd hold out for one of those over other brands that most likely aren't chromed.
