My Saiga has a threaded barrel! Confirmed!

Correct me if I'm wrong guys but a genuine article Soviet two piece MB for AK74 wont fit on this thread will it? Base isn't wide enough?

The AK 74 front sight base does not screw onto the threads of the muzzle. The whole thing is pressed onto the barrel. The 24mm threads are part of the front sight base.

This is a 7.52 which I recently purchased from Peach State guns......there is an 09 under one of the markings.....

Use a crush washer to fill the gap and to index the brake correctly.

You could also buy an adapter that will convert the theads to 24mm for the AK 74 type muzzle brake. Without a spring plunger though, you'll have to figure a way of keeping the parts held there.

I'm checking mine today......Got a pipe cuter for the job...I read you should only cut 5/8ths back from muzzle.......I hope mine is threaded.....

Okay, so I suspected my Saiga had a threaded barrel. I dremels the shroud off and there it was. The barrel is threaded. Now what..

Nevermind on the the crush washer. It looks like a huge gap. Maybe adding a muzzle nut inbetween?

Why don't you just cut down the barrel slightly and throw the brake on.

I am just going to paint the area, get a barrel nut and call it a day.

It was fun converting this rifle! I've learned a lot and now I want to focus on shooting some cheap 7.62 out in Mojavi.

I spent about $800 on this Saiga conversion. All well worth it.

Is the brake really bottoming out? Or, do you just need to chase the threads?

If you want to make your own muzzle nut, I'll give you an old slant brake to cut down. Even if you buy a muzzle nut, it appears that you will need to cut it way down.
