Owning Magazines...

Hey all,

A buddy of mine wanted to know he has had some hi caps for a while, actually since around october of 1999 he wanted to know is it leagal for him to have these or did they have to be registered at some point???


Can he keep them LEGALLY or should he disassemle or destroy them???

Yes as long as he owned them before the ban he is totally fine. He just cannot sell them or transfer them to anyone else.

they did not need to be registerd in any way.....the registarion was fo the guns only??? when was the ban date????

no need to register mags. ban was before 2000.

They are perfectly legal for him to posses and use, if they are for an AR pattern rifle, or other Bullet button gun he cannot use them in anything other than a RAW. If they are for a Pistl he can purchase the gun now and still use them. I think

Perfectly legal to own and use in a RAW (Registered Assault Weapon) or a Featureless OLL (Off List Lower Rifle with No Assault Weapon Features).
