Need help looking for an sks mount and scope

I'm looking to put a mount and scope on my Russian SKS.

This is what I have so far:

I would like to do something like this:

I will need to buy a Shell Deflector, mount, scope.

Does anyone have any reccomendations. I'm going to be shooting 25-100m.

Please supply links if you have them and I'm looking more towards lower priced items since im spending most money on my AR.

    Thanks

FYI, the mags are fixed the picture just shows them both out.

Sks owner here. Do yourself a favor and don't get the dust cover mount. It moves and will not ever hold zero. The very best mount is the one you buy for an AK and have to rivet the mount onto the left side of the receiver. Repeatable zero every time. The second best is the UTG tri-rail or quad rail up front and run either a long focal length pistol scope or red dot scout style. The tri and quad rail really is slick as it doesn't move and looks good.

Don't go ever 100 yards or you'll never stay on paper.
Move the scope back just a little and you may not need the deflector.
Don't put your eye on the scope or close when firing (I speak from experience)
I'd loose the bayonet not sure it even locks in with that stock.
If you go cheap on the scope it will never hold it's zero.

get a scout scope mount. They are rock solid and require no permanent mods to the gun. No need an ler scope though. Or you can run red dot. The scout scope is detachable so you can use irons if needed. http://scoutscopes.com/index.html

I suggest a scout mount with a pistol scope

I have my sight WAY forward but I like it. Mine is on the UTG rail and has been really secure. If I had it to do over again, I'd do the scout mount over the rear sight.
Here's my set up, sorry if it seems like spamming to all who have seen it (just so happens everyone asks about Tapco and scopes and I have both)

              I used to run

I used to run a B square mount with a simmons scope. It was a package deal as the scope was stenciled SKS. It allows stripper clip use and held zero. I used to shoot accurately up to 150 yards.

The general consensus and experience is that a RECIEVER mount won't retain zero because of the need to remove the RECIEVER COVER to properly clean the bolt, and that you should DRILL & TAP the mount to the reciever, for a consistant zero on re-assembly. What has worked for me, is that my one piece reciever cover mount, fits extreamely tight (but stands to reason that it must move due to heat and bolt cycle). After initial install and scope zeroing with a laser bore site (at 25', then 30 yards, then 100 yards), then siteing at the range with live fire. At the range I recheck the zero with bore site and make a written note in my range log of the difference vs actual. I do this with a little diagram of the target. This is my refference zero for the laser. Then when I reassemble after cleaning, I check my scopes zero to this reference. Works for me. I consistantly am in the 2"-5" 10 shot group at 100 yards, even if they're not all in the black, the group is acceptable, because I shoot ammo from many sources. Works for me and was cheap to set up, no shell seflector. If I take my cheak piece off, I can use the open sites (which I plan to change to a Mojo). I've done this procedure for all my scoped rifles.
P.S. I don't think those Tapco mags are Kali compliant, no detatachable mags for SKS of any capacity..? What you have so far is probable cause?

Definetly want to reinstall the factory 10 found nondetachable magazine on your rifle. The ban list says "any SKS with detachable magazine". Saying that, I have been wanting to drill/tap a hole right behind the mag realease and install a bolt so you can't detach a Tapco 10/20.

As for scopes on a SKS, I don't like them myself. I am pretty accurate with the iron sights. Just my opinion though.

Either the chaote mount, or a scoutscopes.com mount like this

old SxS shotguns, Enfields (Irish contract or FF marked), RIC marked carbines or revolvers, odd ball flintlocks.

I modified the ATI Fiberforce to fit my hand and clean up the "clunky" boxy look. I think a cheese grater hand guard would look even better. The Choate are more pleasent to look at and handle nice, but they cost twice what an ATI does. You're looking at a $197 build in 2006, matching numbers '68 triangle 26. 2"-5" groups with any ammo.

If you're feeling adventurous, do what I did to my M59/66. I used a Weaver converta-mount shotgun mount. Trimmed the rail to fit my receiver, then drilled and tapped it. it's detachable and hold zero. I now have a Red Star 4x compact scope on it, which allows the use of stripper clip loading. http://www.weaveroptics.com/rings_ba...ertamount.aspx

Scout scope mouny is the way to go. Receiver cover and handguard will not hold zero. Do not use the original 10 round fixed mag as someone else has suggrested. Use the tapco fixed 10 otherwise you probably wony be compliant with 922 r and califoria laws

If you really want to mount a scope on your SKS then the Choate is the way to go....

Then again, putting a scope on an SKS is like putting a giant spoiler on a Honda Civic... You know it really goesnt go fast, and no one else really thinks it goes fast.

I really like the Tech-Sites for the SKS, I think they are just as accurate given the limiations of the weapon and the round it uses within 200 yards.

If you want a scoped tack-driver get something that is capable of actually delivering. And yes, I LOVE my SKS and have put thousands of rounds through it.
