anyone use them before? I ordered a trigger from them months ago and I waited a month and contacted them. They said the were on back order and should be shiiping within a week. I was a little annoyed that they didn't tell me that when I ordered since I ordered over the phone. That was a month ago and still no trigger. annoying

I hate drop shippers with a passion reserved for cheats and liars.

They take your money for a product they don't have, they call the "real" seller and pay them a lower price than you did and they have the "real" seller ship it directly to you. They never even TOUCH the product but make money off of you.

This is rampant in the aftermarket parts industry.

Yeah thats BS. I actually wont buy anything online unless they have it in hand ready to sell. I hate waiting more than paying a few extra bucks so if they don't have it I will go to the next seller on the list. If they don't list currently stocked items I don't buy from them.

Sharp Shooter Supply is not a drop shipper, they make their own triggers in house. The have the parts manufactured by their vendors and do the assembly, fitting and packaging themselves. Most of what they sell (custom Savage parts) are all manufactured by them in house so if you want their 4oz - 1 Lb trigger or their standard competition trigger (14 oz - 2.5 Lb) or custom barrel lugs, etc. you have to wait until they get them in stock. No one else makes these excact parts so your other option is to go with another brand.

Their stocks are made the same way, the laminate rough blanks are made by their supplier and the inletting and fitting is done in house before shipping.

Their gunsmithing and custom stock work is done by one man (Fred). His wife assembles and fits the triggers, packages and ships all the products and answers the phones and emails.

To get any gunsmithing done you get on their list and they tell you (months later) when to ship your parts to them. They are a small shop so they are at the mercy of their suppliers as to when they get the necesary parts in to make batches of triggers, stocks, etc.

I got on the list for a full action job and custom stock in September, shipped my barreled action in February and should get my complete gun back by the end of the this month.

I've been dealing with them for about 10 years and yes, the phone and email communications are not the best.

Not questioning your relationship with them at all.
I can see Mom and Pop doing it all themselves to get a business going but after ten years? I question doing business with a couple on a farm in Ohio that don't respond to email or phone calls and take tech calls two days a week.

But hey, there are others shops to use and other gunsmiths to see....

Rifle basix makes a nice trigger for Savages.


I won't pretend to speak for Fred and Lisa but with a small operation that provides all their needs, they control the quality of everything that leaves their shop. Expanding involves more risk economically and giving up some of the control of their product. Some people are comfortable with what they know well.

Im with Fjold. SSS are good people that make great products that work. They are a small operation but they make quality products. They are worth teh wait.
