    questions about gas systems.....

Tried search and no luck. Just found comparisons. Just wanted to know if its possible to buy a carbine length, and later down the road to convert it to a mid-length gas system. Is that possible? I want a middy for sure but cant find a good one for between $400 and $500(Del-ton has one but from some reviews on here its hit or miss). Stag has a better rep than DTI, and wanted to see if I cant convert a stag carbine to middy. Any feedback would be awesome.

I am not sure about converting your barrels gas system length, but you can just replace your barrel later on without having to buy a complete upper and sell your old barrel to cover a lot of the costs.

You would need to purchase a new barrel, gas tube, and hand guards.

If you really want a mid length, check this deal out. Right around 600 and change for a mid-length upper with all the key features you'd want. Plus it's from a reputable company. BCM makes great stuff. Buy once cry once.

Mid Length 16" Upper Receiver Group. This AR15 Upper comes with a 16in barrel & your choice of muzzle device and handguard. Designed as life saving tools.

It certainly would be possible, but not an easy "plug and play" thing to do. By the time you paid a smith to plug the old hole and tap a new one and install the new gasblock and gas tube you would probably be half way to just buying a complete mid-length barrel (and you still might have issues with the old sealed up carbine gas tap.) If you want a mid-length, just get a mid-length and I second or third the BCM idea - they make excellent, well-priced uppers!

iTrader protip: When I buy something from you and I immediately pay, then my part is done. That's all I have to do. You can leave me iTrader feedback and go on with your life. When I get the item, I will leave you iTrader feedback, assuming you've already done your part. See how that works?
