Ssup y'all, hope you're well.
Finally took my bolt apart after a thousand+ rounds on my AR. The carbon crud on the back bell behind the rings was baked on and near permanent. Duh. Lately I've read a lot of posts that declare that the AR just needs to be shot and cleaning or maintaining the rifle might actually end up degrading performance. Nothing could be further from the truth for any mechanical object that is properly understood. A shooter justs shoots. No big deal, just a finger muscle involved. A rifleman understands the mechanical operation of the rifle. And the AR, "so simple yet so complex".....is a fascinating mechanical object.
So here's some youtube vids in no particular order so us calgunners are ahead of the curve. I recommend you watch them if you haven't seen them before. And if you have some to add to the list don't hesitate to post them up. I know there are a bunch of great Brownells etc vids out there but I just dig Larry Potterfield, so mostly just the the odd youtube vids.
