I just shoot for fun but I really love this rifle, my question is do you guys think this is too much rifle for a recreational shooter like myself?

I think that you can buy or build a .338LM set up that will out shoot this one and still have a lot of money left over for reloading supplies! Don't jump into it, do some research and find the rifle that will best suit your needs.

Nothing is too much even for recreational shooting. You'll be smiling just setting it up at the range. As long as you don't cringe at the though of sending a $5 to $7 dollar round downrange then it's all healthy. You know you can feed it cheaper by reloading.
