Cross Country road trip on 80...any good gunshops I should stop at

So the deal is my friend is flying me out to Rochester Minnesota to drive his wifes truck back to Cali. I figure since I'm driving through a bunch of more gun liberal states, I bet there would be some good shops to pass by. Maybe find some good deals on ammo, uppers, or mags i can tear apart before entering cali to make into 10 rounders. I would be driving on 80 through Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, and Nevada. So any ideas of spots along the way to check out would be great.

Oh yea... I'm in the process of building up a couple OLL's so emphasis on the shops would be AR parts.

I would like to help you on the Minnesota chapter, home of DPMS and Magnum Research, if you get a chance to stop by at the Twin Cities look for these gun shops:

    Bill's Gun Shop & Range
    4080 West Broadway Avenue, Robbinsdale, MN‎ - (763) 533-9594‎

    Joe's Sporting Goods
    33 County Road B E, Little Canada, Minnesota‎ - (651) 209-7800‎

    Magnum Research Inc
    7110 University Avenue Northeast, Fridley, MN‎ - (763) 574-1868‎

    Dick's Sporting Goods
    11361 Fountains Drive, Maple Grove, MN‎ - (763) 315-5377
I visited Dick's sporting goods twice, it's a nice sports store with a good selection of firearms, there's a class case where they kept black rifles like the DPMS Panther, FNAR, PS90s, etc. So far this is the only gun shop I visited while living there for about half a year before being sent back here for personal reasons.

    Capra's Sporting Goods
    8565 Central Avenue Northeast, Blaine, MN‎ - (763) 780-4557‎

These gunshops are around the area I used to stay in.

I recommend Newts for a good burger and beer (It's upstairs). A bar around the corner south through the alley has really cheap beer also. Hopefully your friends wife didn't have to be there for the Mayo.. Sorry no gun help though

I never stopped at any gun shops, when I did the trip on 80 in '92, it was all comic book stores I just want to say that is a great drive so enjoy it and let us know what you discover.
