    What about this

This seems better for a SD/HD as it's less likely to occlude the rest of your vision like a scope would.

Primary Arms hands down. You won't be disappointed.
The Model 610 was classified as the XM177[3] but adopted by the Air Force as the GAU-5/A Submachine Gun (GAU = Gun, Aircraft, Unit.) The Army purchased 2,815 Model 609 CAR-15 Commandos on June 28, 1966, which were officially designated Submachine Gun, 5.56 mm, XM177E1. - Wikipedia

Primary Arms m3 clone and the micro work well. Takes abuse and still hold zero. Can't complain about the price.

Not capping but just as a friendly CGN question, did you do your research on Kel-tecs?

by the by, I have a $900 rifle with a $1200 scope. Plenty of people have $2000 scopes on their guns. Gun are the cheapest parts compared to optics, ammo, and training.
I wanted an entry level price on a rifle, I am not dropping $1200 plus for a crippled AR.
That said I know you get what you pay for, learned that with handguns.
I have done "internet" research on Keltec, mostly good things are said, some bad things about accuracy, 1 or 2 comments on reliability.
So it seems like a decent purchase for the price.

One day I get a nice black rifle and that happens when California grows up or I move to Arizona or Texas =)

I fully agree, I can't stand the idea of a bullet button. Probably why my next 2 guns will be M1A and maybe mini 30 or mini 14. I love the look of some ARs but having a monsterman grip or BB just pisses me off.

I wanted an M1A but those things are expensive, I have to justify spending $1800, and yes I know it's a great rifle, just more bucks than a newb like me has.
The Mini 14 is nice, I hate to say it but I like the way the SU felt in my hands better, just feels "right".
Thanks for all the good advice guys.

There is nothing wrong with going the inexpensive route. You aren't planning on competing with it or doing a counter terrorist op in Iraq . So for you are planning to use it for, it will work just fine. As for the scope you liked at PA, pretty much all of their scopes are decent. There were some issues with the 1st generation micros, and the fact that if you took them off of the low mount they came with to put on the raised mount, you could get moisture into them. The 2nd and 3rd generation ones don't do that. Basically, look at what features you want, and pick the one that fits your needs and budget. That link you had also shows a picture of one in the standard height scope ring, which is what you will probably want on yours.

PA 1st Gen micros didn't have problem, except that the base could not be removed (wasn't possible as there were no screws in the base). The first run of 2nd Gen were the ones with problems like you stated.
I only say anything b/c the 1st Gen may work best for a Keltec as it has a very low base to begin with, and I didn't want to scare you away from it. Add a 1/2 inch riser and you may get it to cowitness with your irons.

Cowitness would be ideal just in case the battery dies or I'm fat fingering in panic.

I have a BSA STSRGBD30 ( http://www.opticsplanet.net/bsa-opti...stsrgbd30.html )on my CA and I really like it. It's a little heavy but nice and wide and the dot is crisp and bright. (No magnification though) I've heard some bad stuff about BSA but I've put 1K+ rounds downrange with it and no drift or zero loss.

i agree i also have a su-16 the thing shoots great. i am also pi**ed off by the bullet button or monsterman grips on ar/ak series.

p.s. i think the monsterman grip is the most uncomfertable p.o.s. grip out there. thats just my opinion
