Is anyone runnin a 3x mag with there eotechs?

I really love my eotech on my ar and want a little magnification. I dont really want to sell it and buy a trijicon or anything since im saving for a r7005r build. Do any of you have input on eotech and 3xmag. i know it will be heavy but thats not an issue to me. Also can someone post some pics of what there gun looks like with it on if possible? also if you could take a picture looking through the 3x mag so i can see the difference from just using the HWS? Any info will help. thanks.

i know it might not help, but I have a Aimpoint Comp C3 with a primary arms 5x multiplier. Let me know if you want a pic. It is possible, I could fit it on my bros AR and hes got a Eotech.

It's heavy and you still only get a "dot" instead of a cross-hairs.

        It's really not worth it.

Sell the Eotech and get an ACOG, it will cost the same amount of money as an Eotech + magnifier anyways.
        Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

This post should be moved to the Optics forum.

Thanks super. Thats a great site. The trijicons are beautiful. I have a Eo 517 thats been taken out about 6 times and is in perfect condition. Do you think it lost much of its value?

Its not to bad of a setup. I have both an eotech and magnifier and own an acog, have ownd an elcan specter, atn mars night vision, etc. The weight difference isnt much as others stated. Acogs are great but not the best out there IMO. I prefer just a single red dot and sometimes I prefer a crosshair so I went with both setups. I have been shooting since 1992 so I have been through just about every optic out there ranging from $100- $6000. I cannot comment on the $6001-$60,000 optics in terms of weight, reliability, and setup.

Just try both out yourself and see what you like. You can get Eotechs used for under $300 and the same with magnifiers. Same with Trijicon Acogs(under $1000 used). Both setups you can find for under $1000.

                Good luck in your search.

yea, i love the eotechs, and it was a gift from my pops for my first build so i rather not sell it. im just gonna go with a 3x and when i do another build down the road maybe ill invest in a acog. thanks everyone for the help.
