Are ACOGS the equivalent of night vision?

    Got it, thanks guys. I was considering my choices between an real ACOG and a clone sold by one of the members here. I figure if ACOG has some night vision capability, I would go with it.

      This is from the movie "Tears of the Sun"



      At 1:20, you can see the SEAL guy looking through some kind of scope on his rifle and there's nv.

      Is that just hollywood crap or is there a scope really like that? There doesn't seem to be another nv device in front of the scope to enhance nv.

          if u look clearly at part 2 of that on 7:16, LT has complete pwnage of the night... even with his aimpoint mounted backwards too lol

            Yeah, they exist, but given the timeframe of the movie, NVG scopes were a little bigger and heavier than the scope that was shown on that clip. No scope I know of with a cheesy reticle like that though.
