I have posted a few times regarding assault weapons and silencers in the past.
It has been quiet regarding those firearms for a while. But, recently, I have been working several of those cases at my office again. Like I have stated before, I am certain and hope that the Calguns members are in compliance with the law. I have worked on some assault weapon cases recently. These are:
1. Category 1 assault weapons that were not registered.
2. OLL's with no magazine lock devices.
I don't know if the owners were ignorant about the law, or they broke the law intentionally. I have to report the facts that they are indeed assault weapons.
I also had 2 silencer cases.
1. The firearms have muzzle attachments that actually reduce the report of the gun fire. The one I worked on today reduced the sound about 1/2 of what it sounds without the device. It is a very crud home made device, but nevertheless, it reduced the sound.
I think some people attach a device to make it look cool, however, per the definition of the penal code and AFT guide line, if it reduces the report of the gun fire, it is a silencer (sound suppressor).
Another reminder: If you have a short barrels and attach a break or flash suppressor, make sure it is permanently attached.
Some people didn't like my post in the past saying I am preaching to a choir, but I think occasional reminder is not too bad.
Again, if I offended anyone with my post, becasue you always follow the law, please accept my apology.
