I just bought a gas block and tube for my AR build today. i put them together and i noticed that the gas block hole and gas tube hole doesn't line up all the way... maybe 10% of the hole on the gas tube isn't visible. is this okay?

I know what you're saying. You have a couple of options (don't forget you can always buy a new gas tube, they're cheap!) that come to mind:
1) Take it apart and enlarge the gas tube hole juuuuust enough to make it match the size of the gas block port.
2) Put it together & shoot it. If it doesn't short-stroke/fail to operate correctly you may be good to go.
3) Return the parts and get new ones.Comment

Cool! Someone knows what I'm talking about haha. Thanks! I'm hoping it's a big enough hole for the action to cycle... Really want this thing to be over with so I can start saving money again....Comment

you might be alright. function test it first at the range, to see if enough gas gets back to cycle the bolt. if it short strokes then you know what needs to be done. my stag 3h gas block was not lined up perfectly exact with the hole in the barrel but it still functioned ok.Last edited by Ballistic043; 03-27-2010, 8:27 PM.Comment
