    DD Floating rails???

Ok so I am looking at these particular rails and was curious if you guys had any experience with them?

I keep going back and forth between adding rails to my MOE handguard or just going full on and getting nice quad rails...

    Opinions?

    Thanks fellas

well you can get the dd omega ff..which actually isn't really a true ff rail cause it uses the stock Dring, but are slim, sturdy and great.

omega x is the next thing up for ff

then the true ff is the ar15 lite from daniel defense which is like the omega x but mounts better.

from looking around and deciding what to do...you might as well get the ar15 lite because they are all the same price give or take 30$, but thats if you dont mind taking the stock Dring and barrel nut off...if you do, then go with the omega.

I have the DD 9.0 Lite rail and I love it. They are a little pricey but I think its worth it. One and done.
I could be wrong, but if your worried about weight issues i've heard that the lite rails weighs less than USGI handguards.

that's the true free float..go for it! but remember you need to remove the stock Dring and barrel nut unlike the regular omega

Eh not so much weight. I know if I spend the money I will get really nice rails and they are going to be light...

Its how light my bank account is going to look... Kind of like it is now...

I need mothballs for it ha ha

DD Lite rails are very solid, it uses the DD barrel nut. Which means you have to remove any muzzle device, FSB w/ handguard cap, or gas block, handguards
and delta ring and barrel nut. You better order the DD Lite wrench when you get your rail or be real nice to someone who has one, like me.

Uhhh, no. All the DD rails are true free float rails. DD doesn't even make a rail that DOESNT free float.

Just because the Omega uses the stock barrel nut, doesn't mean it's not free floating. Why on earth do you think that?

Seriously - there are about five threads going on about rails right now.

Just kidding around though, get the DD Omega 7! (That's my answer and I'm sticking to it! Still!)

It's obvious, he doesn't own one and was misinformed.

OP: what are you going to attach to your rail? If it's just a light then I'd consider just adding a rail to your MOE.

One of the nice thing about a longer rail, either with a FSP cut-out or a low-profile gas block, you can move your light further forward which gives you more room for you hand. This also gives you a longer sight radius (non-FSP) although most people think of their irons and backup only.

If you have a pinned FH then you're choices will be a bit more limited as you won't be able to remove the barrel nut nor change out the FSB or gas block, if necessary. In which case you would need a two-piece rail, like the Omega.

Well. I think my goal is to have a forward stubby grip/ AFG and a light. And thats it. But I just LOVE the look of these rails and how they attach...

I may be better off with just some rails on my MOE handguard...

I don't know if you guys know where I can get that proprietary wrench or if someone is looking to rent or sell theirs but I'm going crazy trying to find one.

This wrench is my roadblock for my build... you would think they would just throw it in when purchasing the rail.

Also - I'm not looking to pay out the ***** for someones used wrench either..

                              I'm in Sacramento area...

                              Thanks,
