    Building an upper.....

Since I cannot just flat out buy an upper till next year and I really don't want to get something interim just to sell it, I figured I was going to piece my upper together.
What else do you guys think I need?

    Mega Monolithic Upper mid length

    16" ss barrel
This BCM barrel is a stripped, 16" mid-length, SS410 "Recce" AR15 barrel with gas ports installed and dimpled for a strong gas block installation.

    Low profile gas block
    Gas tube and roll pin
    Bolt carrier group
    charging handle
    flash hider
    receiver claw
    rail mounted iron sights
    eventually optics.

Is there anything I am missing?

Also, with the monolithic upper, i take it you assemble the barrel with the gas tube and gas block prior to installation (I don't see another way).

    Thanks again!

No, this upper comes with a pipe-like barrel nut wrench that slides over the stripped barrel. You then tighten the barrel nut by hand and then torque it to spec using a torque wrench that attaches to the tab welded onto the side of the tube. The silver piece seen on the end of the tube in this pic is the barrel nut. You then install your gas tube into your FSB or gas block and slide it into place. If using a carbine gas system barrel the rail will go over the gas block, so you need to take care to tap the gas block into proper alignment and then secure it to the barrel from the bottom via set screws.

Cool, I was actually hoping you would answer. I am planning on using a mid length not carbine length tube.
your help is appreciated........and I will be buying that upper from you guys when I get the funds.

OK, so I need to order a punch for the gas tube roll pin, mine are too large, other then the receiver claw for my vise I already ordered are there other tools that are a must have for building the Mega monolithic upper?
Do i need a barrel vise jaws and an action block as well?
Any other tools needed? might as well get a list going so i can order.

Im going to build one too. Do you need to check bolt head spacing in barrel/extension?

keep your eyes on the wts threads as you will spend more building your own I bet than just buying a used one...
