But, I don't want a 22 cal, even if that is .223. I have a .22 m&p 15/22...I want a 7.62 AR.

I have searched around a little, and boy, it is looking like 3X as much as a regular 5.56 just for a little bigger round, wtf?

If I had it my way, it would be 30.06, but I have yet to see this available.

Any links to some companies selling AR10 sized uppers, lowers etc at less than obama wage requirements?

7.62 AR would be an AR10 type unless you want a 7.62X39 upper for an AR 15.

have you considered going with 6.5 grendel? i looked at the option when building my AR and alexandar arms sells the bolt and 16 in barrel for something like 220$ maybe closer to 300$ and everything else is compatible. unless im mistaken only problem was the availability and cost of the round.

Have you seen or shot .223/5.56? It's not even close to being anything like your .22lr. It's way more powerful and a much bigger cartridge.

look into the 6.8 SPC or the 6.5 grendel both have 40 to 50 % more stopping power with only a little more recoil I have a stag in 6.8 and I am building a mega upper and lower in 6.8 also.

If you want something with punch look into the big bore AR's. 50 Beowolf comes to mind.

Id really like to hear from someone that was shot with a round of 5.56 and thought it was lack-luster in its performance and knockdown power.
