I feel obligated too. Good for you, your rifle is dirty, and it shoots, as it should, and you don't care enough about it to give it a solid clean. Guys in the military are not always the best source of information, I can admit to that, I also know that reading online reviews is probably not as solid of an idea, but keep citing them. About CLP being the cheapest.....ummmm, not so much. I can go to WM and find 2 or 3 other bottles of crap that is significantly cheaper. I am done with this, you are a piece of work, show some respect, you have too much time on your hands, now go back and google some more stuff to attack me with.
You might want to take some of your own advice on this one, especially the part about showing respect

So now disagreeing with him is "going after him"? I wasn't aware that whether Mr. Andrew Mendez is a good person or not matters to the topic of this thread. I do not know him personally and never made any personal insults towards him. This thread is not personal and if anyone has taken it as such that is their problem and not mine.

        And the threadjack continues...

I wasn't aware being "actively involved in the CG community" or the "RKBA fight" was a competition? Whether Mr. Andrew Mendez is more active than me or not plays no part in this thread.

So now the amount of time spent cleaning your rifle is the measurement for how much one cares? Who decided this? This logic is as silly as it is out of place in this thread.

Are you referring to the offical EAG AAR's posted by their instructors or the quotes from certified Colt armorers?

I haven't been disrespectful (which is not something I can say about you), a disagreement is not a sign of disrespect. I actually do have to much time on my hands, that is what happens when your job cuts down your hours. Is that supposed to be an insult? If you learned to count you'd realize that both your friend and myself both have an equal amount of posts in this thread. Does this mean he has to much time on his hands as well? Am I bad person because I disagree with your friend or because I "have to much time on my hands". Bud you need to grow up and learn to not take things so personal. None of this is personal, atleast not until you took it there.

I have read in a few articles/threads that you should clean the barrel after every single shot - for 10 shots. Then clean every 2nd shot for next 10 shots. This is, of course, when you are shooting a new rifle for the first time. Kind of like a breaking-in-the barrel.

After that regular cleaning every few hundred shots (300-500). Oil it every 500 shots, or so. Detailed cleaning every 3000-5000 shots.

I could be wrong about this... But this is what I found out. I'm sure someone with more knowledge/experience will ADD to this...
