    bullet button options

    hello all,

i've been looking for a while, but can't seem to find anything that i'm looking for. i'm picking up my first lower receiver on friday, so i'd like to pick out a bullet button before then. where could i find a "bullet button" that actually requires a tool to remove the magazine i.e. using a screw driver to twist, then push.

the reason i'm looking for something else is because i want something that actually uses a real tool versus something that is dependent on "individual interpretations" of the DOJ law.

    anyway, thanks ahead of time!

There is nothing like that. If you want to use a tool that is actually named in the Penal Code (much makes no sense considering the hundreds of thousands of post-ban "AWs" equipped with bullet buttons and zero convictions and very very few arrests to go with it) then use an inert cartridge because the Penal Code specifically lists a bullet as a tool.

The bullet button style lock you describe does not exist becuase it is not necessary.

You've just created your own "individual interpretation" of the law that says a tool like a screwdriver is required.

It sounds like you want to lossen up the screw so you could push the mag button with your finger? If it is I believe you would be in a no go zone if am correct. Someone correct me.

You are correct, that would be illegal. I don't think that is what he wanted. He is just afraid of using a bullet as a tool and wanted a device that could be actuated only with a screwdriver to drop the mag.

call me paranoid, but i'd rather just get a no frills bullet button and a standard mag release for out of state.

Absolutely nobody has been arrested specifically for using a Raddlock. I have them on several builds. It's not 2006 anymore! We are in well explored territory here. Grab a trail map and enjoy your excursion into semi-evilness.

impactco, the raddlock looks pretty nice, but isn't there is the potential for the adjustment screw to vibrate loose under fire, resulting in the unit going from a bullet button to a mag release without the knowledge of the shooter?
                  Isn't it even remotely possible?

The Raddlock cannot vibrate loose. I have them on all my rifles.

The Bullet Button cannot be "adjusted" by accident or on purpose to be non-compliant.

It is now, and will forever be, the best choice.

                      I am of course bias.

I have been turning wrenches on everything from autos, boats, Harleys, weapons, bicycles, anything you can think of, for over forty years, and I have yet to see a bolt or screw that can not vibrate or eventually come loose on it's own, unless it is castle nutted, drilled and safety wired or has some other permanent locking device.
Looks like I'm going to have to order one of these for myself and see how they do it.......

I agree there is nothing that is 100% vibration proof. But a little blue (or red is you are real paranoid ) lock-tite will get you into the 99.762% realm.

Vibration? What, do you guys think your firing an M249 SAW or something?

All of these 'vibration' raddlock hypotheses would really go away if some of you just tried one.

if you're paranoid, bring a screwdriver and make sure it's tight before every range session. It absolutely WILL NOT vibrate out during a range session, I don't care if you put 500 rounds through the gun.

No affiliation here, just a satisifed multiple raddlock customer.
