    Timney Trigger - worth it?

I got a Howa ranchland compact with a 20' barrel. I love the gun and have shot a dime size three round group at 100 yards. Only complaint is the trigger. It's solid but stiff. I've looked to see if it's adjustable but it's seems a bit complicated and I've seen mixed results. I looked up a Timney drop-in trigger and found one with only positive reviews. But I'm still looking for some advice. Is the $110 worth the better adjustable trigger or should I stick with my stock trigger?

i'd have to recommend the Geissele SSA trigger. built like a sturdy/combat trigger but it's 2stage. non adjustable. about 4lb, short pull too. very smooth compared to the standard trigger which feels like 7-9lb stiff pull.

i've read good things about Timney too, but i don't have enough experience in the AR world to give you a better opinion.

still gotta say Geissele SSA FTW!

It's not an AR-15. Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. I like the idea of adjustable. The Timney one advertises between a 4 and 1.5 lb pull.

I do enjoy my timney trigger, nice crisp break, feels like a small glass rod snaps. It improved my accuracy and I would recommend one. Correct me if im wrong but aren't the howa's able to accept the remington 700 trigger groups?

additional 1+ for the Timney...124.-- plus change from brownnells. Got mine down about 1 month ago and I am very pleased....It's also adjustable. I've got mine still set at the factory setting, but may still go lower...

Nope, unless something has changed its the weatherby vanguard and howa 1500 action only.

I have Timney triggers in all my Ar variants including my .22lr Spikes, and my Magnum Research Magnumlite HM2 as well. If you like the feel of a tuned 1911,and shoot one extensively, you will like these nice crisp single stage triggers.

They have the one I need at MidwayUSA for $110 right now. It's something I deperstely want but it just seems like such a high price. That's halfway to the e-caller I wanted to pick up.

Call Timney and talk to them about your needs. I believe they are a small family owned business, and I can attest to their high level of customer service. Their triggers are a quality product and well worth the money(especially on sale!).

They say down to 1.5 lb pull. I've pulled a Savage Accu-trigger down as far as it will go. Is that around the same? Also, since there is no sear-guard like on the Accu-trigger, how safe is it to set that low?

Alright so I'm impulsive and just bought it. Every review is positive. I just found out they just made a new trigger for a Mosin. That's also exciting for me. May have to save up for that one as well. I will have a real safety, not the locking the cocking knob BS. Still, what do you guys suggest for a break weight?

I'm not nervous about very light trigger pulls on bolt guns, but then I don't close the bolt until I'm going to fire.
