    Suggestions for a light setup

I have a SIG5556 SWAT with quad rails and a forward grip. I want to add a flashlight to the side rails with a pressure switch. Through some suggestions on make and model of flashlights and mounting setups.

Highly recommend the Fenix TK10 ($65 Amazon) with pressure switch ($17 Amazon).
Fenix is BLOWING AWAY Surefire right now.
The TK10 has 230 lumens of blinding light at a great price.
Sorry no pics of mine mounted, the wife has the camera out of the country.

+1 Fenix TK10. I have two of them. If you want strobe capabilities. Look at their other line of products like the PD30.

That sounds good. What do you use to mount it?

I picked up a mount that clamps to my rails at a gun show.
I don't know the make, not sure the package had a name. I mounted the pressure switch to the pistol grip. It works great.
I might have a pic in my computer at home, I will look.

How is Fenix "blowing away Surefire"? Is the Military using Fenix on all their weapons currently in battle right now. I don't think so.

Go with Surefire and get a lifetime warranty and know your spending your money on a product made in the USA.

Mount style and location will depend upon your rifle. What are you running?

Personally, for a budget light set-up, the VTAC mount + SureFire G2LED is the way to go.

The TK series from Fenix are heavier than need be. Go with the PD or similar.

My favorite set-up, though, is the VTAC mount + VTAC SureFire light.

The Pelican M-6 LED works great without spending a ton of cash. A single 1" scope ring makes a simple mount.

Surefire can't touch Fenix for the price range = blowing away.
Considering your argument that if the military is using it in combat right now it must be better than the rest, is it your opinion that the Beretta is the finest combat handgun available "right now"?

Fenix lights are nice for the price but i have had a tk12 die while i was shooting!, new batteries and everything, it just went out, checked batteries lamp assembly and everything, took it back to the shop i got it at and it was quickly replaced by another. Fenix lights are great for camping or activities that dont put your life on the line, I would stick with surefire and if your not happy then buy a third party lamp assembly, scope out candlepowerforums.com they'll school ya

Govt contracts don't account for the bulk of SureFires in military hands.

So VTAC is the mount maker and then just choose any flashlight?? Would the VTAC mount fit any fenix or surefire light?

Insert is for smaller lights (like PD fenix and E-series surefires), without it can accommodate 1"+/- lights (like SureFire G2's and Fenix TK's)

That's also their light their. So you understand why it's awesome - this is what it's equivalent to:

                              And it's 1/2 the price.
