Markleys is the most FUD-up shop Ive ever seen. We basically got into an argument about the law, AR's, bullet buttons, and what not. I won't be going there again, since I can't stand people who treat me like I'm retarded, and who refuse to acknowledge when they're wrong. Its a long story... but anyway, Outdoor World on 41st Ave. is really cool... they don't stock AR's, but are happy to handle the transfer, provided the bullet button, mag etc are in order.
This may sound strange and unbelievable to you, but it is real and true.

From what I understand the bullet button doesn't need to be on there if it's featureless. So they should be able to transfer the lower receiver without the bullet button on it, right?

You'll find high-quality gun parts, gunsmithing tools, firearms, ammunition, reloading equipment, optics, and more!

But the other half of that question must be asked, too: Is it worth it if it costs just one life?" Stephen Hunter

+1 for this, go buy it now and start your BRD. Thats a good price and you can get the only part in your area that you NEED an FFL for. Everything else you can buy off the internet.

You don't need the bullet button if you purchase the upper and lower halves seperately. Buying the lower will require you to wait 10 days just like a pistol, as that is the part that the DOJ considers a firearm. You can buy the upper online and ship it to your house, no problem. Before you put the rifle together you need to make sure you have your bullet button installed on your lower.

Yeah, Outdoor World said they would do that, as well as handle the transfer of a complete lower w/o a bullet button as long as the upper was separated. They know the law, they seem to be familiar with CalGuns (when I brought those Ammo ban fliers in to both of their stores, they were happy to pass them out ). Their fees are a little steep, I think... $100 incl. DROS for FFL to FFL transfer, and I think for a PPT as well, though I'm not sure on that.
