i have a MBUS on my wifes AR and i have a Matech on mine, both are good sights if you want a back up sight, if its a primary sight i'd probably go with a fixed sight for durability, just my opinion.

I was initially really skeptical about the MBUS, but that changed when I needed a cheap set of sights to throw on my .22 upper. They work great, and I wouldn't mind using them on a 5.56 either.
They will never replace my Troy sights, but as a cost effective well made piece of gear, they are well worth it. My only real complaint is the rear apertures not being same-plane.Comment

what do you mean about the aparture not being same plane? I have mbus rear but have yet to take it to the range yetComment

MBUS: I have several of these. I like them. I have used them on carbines, rifles, and the pistol. They work great. I don't care quite so much for the smaller aperture. But I can get a great co-witness sight picture either through the sights, or with the 1/3 sight picture using just the front one. For the price, they are hard to beat.
Match Rear Sight: I found these on gunbroker for $25-35. They were take offs from from GI rifle supposedly. They were the older model, with the detent that can wear out and the original rail attachment. Evidently you can over-tighten these and shear the screw off if you torque it down too much. I am not a fan of the small aperture on this one either, but it is accurate and holds a zero. I still have to take it out to a longer range to see how well it can hit with the 55 grain bullets I typically use with a 16" barrel, instead of the 62 grain bullets out of a 14.5" barrel it was originally caliberated for.
UTG fixed sight and carry handle: I picked these up before I knew any better. They work well enough for what they are. I have had a problem with both of them moving a click or two when I switch between the large and small apertures. And they just don't "feel" all that solid. I have since pulled them, and I only keep them around as an emergency back up. If you can't afford anything else, they will work. But don't count on being able to adjust them from one setting to another and maintaining a zero.Originally posted by aplinkerIt's OK not to post when you have no clue what you're talking about.Comment

I have an MBUS, and I like it. It's a great rear sight, but its windage adjustments are very clumsy in my opinion. Trying to zero it yesterday, my instructors were telling me to move it 6 clicks, and I got what they wanted in like 2-3 clicks. It's not a very precise adjustment, but once I got in it worked pretty well! Just keep in mind, it's not a match sight but it will work."If it wears out, replace it. If it breaks, upgrade." -Cranky Air Force Vet.

Well, I pulled the trigger and ordered my upper(Stah 0H) and the MBUS rear so once I get my LPK I will update with a range report and some photos

I have the MBUS on my rifle and I like them. If you are planning on someday using an optical sight you might as well get a folding rear sight now and spare yourself the grief of having to replace it in the future.
I have the fixed rear sight from my S&W M&P 15-22 that I'm not using and I also have a black MBUS front sight. If you still haven't found your sights send me a PM and maybe we can work something out.
