Finishing up new 700 build *New Paint and Range Report*

So I finally got to take her out today. Headed up to Edwards AFB to sight in. The winds were ranging from 5-15mph from the north. The best grouping on sight in was 1/2" @ 100 yards (3 shot group) and 3/4" (5 shot group) with Federal Match 168gr SMK. Also went out to 260 and 630 yards with only a few fliers. The day ended at 160 rounds, a soar elbow and a big smile. Also the new paint is on and I am somewhat happy with the camo but I was in a hurry and just couldn't get creative enough.

    Remington 700 SPS Tactical
    Caliber: .308
    Barrel Length: 20" Factory
Trigger: Jewell (Set at 2 1/2 pounds)
Stock: Mcmillan A4 with 2 flush cups and spacer system
Bottom Metal: Badger M5 (Inletting by Randall @ AR15barrels)
    Bolt Knob: Randall @ AR15barrels
Bipod: Harris 6-9 and 9-13 Notched Leg w/ Phoenix Tactical Claw and Ski Feet
    Scope Base: Leupold Mark 4
    Scope Rings: US Optics (Low)
Scope: US Optics ST-10 Mil Dot, M40 Knobs, Illuminatated.

Thanks to Randall @ AR15barrels for getting the bolt knob, Pillar bedding and inletting done. I know people are tired of hearing it but Randall is awesome (especially for putting up with my crap). I still have a Surefire brake on order and some painting to do but she is done for know. I just hope I can shoot better than I can take pictures.

I can guarantee you are going to want to change that bipod out to a 6-9" model.

Nice! I just sold a similar setup to fund a 5R. It was nice though.

I don't shoot these things. They are just for decoration. I'm planning on stretching her legs next weekend. Hopefully I can post pics of a target with actual holes in it.

You should start a club of california people that have cool guns and don't shoot them.
You could call it "Calguns" or something cool like that.
                    errr, wait a minute, nevermind...

                        That's the french.

Internet shooters fire 60 rounds through a gun and then talk about the 1000's of rounds they have fired.
Then 6 weeks later they are selling the gun and suddenly it has "only 200 rounds fired"...

Nice gun, but 1 lb trigger on tactical guns? Wow, never heard about it, I think.

It came set at 1lb but I will end up setting it around 2 - 2 1/2lbs.
