    AR upper question

Not sure exactly where to put this question, but this seemed as good as any. I am jumping into my first ownership/build experience for an AR style weapon. I've got two lowers that are waiting for the 10 day waiting period to elapse. And would like to get a jump on my build. I'm looking at complete uppers and am having trouble deciding what company to go with. I wish someone would make a sticky with a general ranking of the quality compared to cost for alot of these combinations. So far I'm lost in the hundreds of deals out there. I have heard that LMT's are good. How close to the too.p of the line they are I couldn't answer. I think this combo is a good deal.

Maybe someone could give me some guidance, cause right now I'm LOST! Thanks.

I was going to go through DA for my upper, but to be honest after calling them up to ask about thier inventory I was treated pretty bad, like I was wasting thier time. Whats your price limit, what style, length? For me, just finding one was a little challenging. I'm nowhere near a wiz on uppers but I could maybe point you in the right direction.
Rock out with your glock out!

Something to keep in mind when it comes to opinions on AR parts is that a lot of it is exactly that, opinions. Sure there are some hign end, and some low end, but there is a lot of gray area in between. Kind of like Ford VS Chevy (we all know chevy is better ).

Anyway, what is your goal? I myself own a complete Stag M4, a complete Rock River Arms M4, and a Kaiser Defense complete lower that I just bought a 20 A2 Del Ton Rifle Kit for. You have all kinds of choices. Believe me, I know your pain. It took me the last week to finally just go for the Del Ton upper.

Since you are getting two lowers, check out www.del-ton.com. They have some great deals especially if you get one of their rifle kits.

Noveske, Daniel Defense, LMT, BCM, or CMMG.

There are about 10 threads on the front page, right now, that are almost identical to your question. Why not jump into one of those?

The thread in my signature is a jumping-off point for learning the language and differences between them.

Not trying to be a jerk, but that's just the kind of hand-wavy answer that's given by someone who doesn't understand the differences.

I was guided towards a $530 Rock River Arms Predator Pursuit 20" stainless match upper. It was a no brainer!!! Not for shooting any steel cased ammo though. The chamber feels tight. I only shoot match grade ammo... Its 50+cents a round but worth it!

The people at rbprecision.com will really help you out!

I totally understand the differences. That is why I asked the OP what his goal was. Maybe you missed that part.

If he is looking for a plinker, no need to go spending $1000+ plus on just the upper right?

Not that it has any relevance, but that's a pretty hard argument to push considering GM and Chrysler both had to go crying to Obama and are still barely even surviving. lol When It comes to uppers it's more like Ferrari's to kia's and everyone else in between is just average

The real funny part is that I own a Toyota Camry and a Mazda B2500 (Ford Ranger). When it comes to hot rods though, I have always been a chevy/mopar guy.

Does it make a difference if the Camry I have has been supercharged and is a total sleeper?

I can appreciate a good sleeper, and I have owned my fair share of chevy's have no problem with their pre 80's vehicles. I will just never own a newer model from them again. My Silverado knocking and leaking oil at 29000 miles and GM unwilling to permanently fix the problem sent me permanently to ford. Have an 04 cobra with a Kenne Bell twin screw and an '08 f-150 supercrew with a roush supercharger now. To even the field my wife has a 06 grand prix gtp....... oil burning POS! lol another reason I now hate GM. but back on topic. LMT BCM DD can all be had in the same price vicinity as the cheap crap right now, so that is always the best way to go.
