CMMG 14.5" with permanently attached Phantom question?

I just got my CMMG 14.5" with permanently attached Phantom.

Can someone tell me how it is permanently attached? I am looking at it and can't see any pins or welds anywhere.

I have no idea. I will take more pics of it all the way around and try and spot it.

Why don't you call CMMG? Most likely, it is drilled and pinned and silver welded and covered-up/touched-up, and you won't see it at all. My Noveske was done that way, and almost flawless.

            Hi David --

I have the exact same upper. It is pinned on and then covered up. I have a thread on that somewhere in my past...

thanks guys. I'm sure it is one of the techniques stated above. All I can say is that they did a great job on it.

I have a CMMG 14.7 upper with a pinned and welded A2 bird cage hider, mine is pinned and welded at the 6 O'clock position on the flash hider.

I needed a 10x Jewelers loupe to make out the faint outlines of the pin. Maybe a brand new barrel will be harder to see it.

My CMMG came welded too. You can barely see the edge of the weld, I was worried and was going to send it out to have it done anyways, just incase.

I might have it redone cause the slots are off a bit. OCD in me.
