I recently got my LWRC rifle with Magpul UBR stock. All parts are factory assembled by LWRC. The stock body comes off easily, however i'm having trouble taking off the buffer tube from the lower. It won't twist or turn. It seems like the tube is glued onto the lower because I did notice some white material between them that could be some type of adhesive. Anyone has any idea how I can remove the tube without damaging it? Thanks in advance

Buffer tube help

Did you already remove the castle nut or is it staked? If you did maybe put some heat to it with a heat gun or a hair dryer. Also you might want to depress the buffer spring retaining pin, that could be putting some unwanted tension on the buffer tube.A&M Animal Control of San Diego.

if you have a vice block for the lower, (the kind that does into the mag-well) install that thing, and secure into a vice. Then get a strap wrench, throw that bad boy around the buffer tube and turn counter-clockwise.
If you don't have a vice block, no problem. Just use plenty of padding on the lower, so as not to damage it with the vice.
If it still feels too tight (I hope it doesn't) then use some nice penetrating oil around the threads, WD40 is usually too weak, try "PB Blaster". Drench the threads with that stuff, give it about 30 minutes, then try again. Make sure you wipe the penetrating oil from the buffer tube so the strap wrench can get a good grip.
If all doesn't work, go with VaderSpade's suggestion. Some heat should do the trick. Though having it in the vice is always a good idea.
Btw. Why are you removing the tube? tired of the Ubr? I might want it...Originally posted by Maddog5150The best CQB weapon of all time = A big ****ing rockComment

Loctite breaks down at 400 degrees so a simple hair dryer is not going to work.
You need a real heat gun or a torch.
I use a torch.
It gets the job done quicker before the heat spreads through the whole tube and lower and you can't hold them anymore.Randall Rausch
